Omaha, NE - The Omaha Police Department is now pushing a catchy slogan, from the Gardiner Maine Police Department's Facebook page.  It's called "See Something.  Say Something."

With the tragic events in Boston, police departments are now encouraging people to call 911 if they see a crime is happening or a person or group of people doing something that is either illegal or suspicious.

Some examples may range from suspected illegal drug activity, suspicious packages, prostitution, or the belief that a specific person is in possession of stolen property or engaging in illegal activity.

Tips the OPD receives regarding crime must be verified through the investigation of an officer.

The tips often lead officers in the right direction and can add to the "probable cause" necessary to investigate a crime. The suspicious activity that you are reporting must be taking place within the Omaha city limits.

Call: 911 or Crime Stoppers at (402) 444-7867
Text: "OPD" to 274637
