Alfonzo Dennard Sentenced To Jail Time, Probation
Lincoln, NE - A Lancaster County judge handed down a sentence today for former Husker Alfonzo Dennard.
He has been sentenced to two years of probation and 30 days in jail, for assaulting a police officer in Lincoln, last year, and resisting arrest.
Police arrested Dennard just after 2 a.m. on April 21, 2012 outside a bar in Lincoln. A police report said Dennard struck an officer after the officer ordered him to leave the area following a fight with another man.
NFL.com is reporting Dennard's jail stay will begin March 1, 2014, meaning he will be available for training camp and remain free for the entire season.
Dennard is now a second-year cornerback for the New England Patriots.
