"Loessfest" Council Bluffs 2013
Council Bluffs, IA - River's Edge Park in Council Bluffs, along the Missouri River, opens up next month. But the grand opening event isn't where the celebration stops.
Today, the city announced "Loessfest", a three-week event to celebrate the park's opening.
Mayor Tom Hanafan and Iowa West Foundation President and CEO Pete Tulipana announced the full line-up.
One feature that will remain at the park after the celebrations are over is a unique and interactive light display on the Great Lawn. "Rays" is a $500,000 interactive permanent fixture, paid for by the Iowa West Foundation.
"Loessfest" events are free and include a concert by The Beach Boys, a Food Truck Festival, "Ferris Bueller's Day Off" on a gigantic movie screen and much more.
The three-week event is May 25th - June 8th.
