Omaha, NE-Many in the Omaha metro area were celebrating Easter Sunday morning.

In Council Bluffs, dozens of families came out to the Quaker Steak and Lube in Council Bluffs for an Easter egg hunt and pictures with the Easter Bunny.

And for those little ones who couldn't get to the Bunny, he made a visit to them. In West Omaha, at Children's Hospital and Medical Center, the Douglas County Sheriff's Office brought a special guest who hopped into the heart of patients.

"Just watching the expression on the childrens' faces. And sometimes it's the parents too. It lightens their day as well," Jay Wingler with the Sheriff's Office said.

Nearly four thousand people turned out to one of the largest services.

Parisioners came to the Century Link Center for the King of Kings Lutheran church service. Senior Pastor Mark Zehnder focused his message on the story of new.

The church was also distributing free hardcover copies of the book, the story. It's a narrative version of the bible.

"This makes it so easy they can just start at the beginning. They don't have to worry about who wrote this and when is it. And it really has everything to like a pinpoint and has timeline so you can see when and where," Danelle Schlegelmilch with Kings of Kings said.
