Valley, NE -- Ryan Euberrhein is making sure everything is in order when it comes to farm equipment. It's the weather he's not so sure about. "It's staying cool, it's not warming up as fast as it did last year so that's helping to kind of conserve moisture in the soil until we plant," said Euberrhein.
And planting season is right around the corner even though much of the state's land is still thirsty. The latest model from the U.S. Drought Monitor shows the entire state of Nebraska suffering from drought. About 76 percent of it in the extreme category and about 90 percent of Iowa is in the red when it comes to moisture levels.
Euberrhein says it's unsettling when you invest a lot of money in crops then have to just sit back and hope for the best. "When you put that much time and money into something and then you have to rely on Mother Nature." said Euberrhein.
