Omaha Citizens Pressuring County Attorney Over OPD Excessive Force Allegation
Omaha, NE - A group stood outside the Douglas County Courthouse Thursday afternoon demanding action over the recent excessive force investigation in the Omaha Police Department.
The group "Citizens of Omaha" is calling on County Attorney Don Kleine to break his silence on the investigation.
Last week KMTV Action 3 News broke the story of a rough arrest near 33rd and Seward.
YouTube video shows police taking down Octavius Johnson while other officers followed his brother inside his home.
Juaquez Johnson says police took the camera he used to record their actions.
Sharon Johnson was among the protesters Thursday, and is the mother of the Johnson brothers. She says an officer knocked her over when they came inside the home that night. She says the Omaha Police Department released her nephews' criminal records in order to put them in a negative light while keeping the accused officers' records from the public.
The group says since Don Klein is an elected official he should be open with the public.
