Former Governor Candidate Eyeing A Second Run
Omaha, NE- A former Democratic candidate for governor is considering another run for office in Nebraska.
Scottsbulff attorney Mike Meister has formed an exploratory committee as he considers which office he should seek. Meister said Wednesday that he is pondering a run for governor, the legislature, or the U.S. Senate seat that is currently held by Senator Mike Johanns.
Meister was the Democratic Party’s nominee in the 2010 governor’s race against Republican Governor Dave Heineman. He joined that race less than 100 days before the general election after the previous nominee, Mark Lakers, withdrew from the race.
