Fremont, NE - This Thanksgiving the Bohn family has an extra blessing to be thankful for.
"We just got the best baby its so hard to believe were living a dream we'd never thought we'd see," Jennifer Bohn said.
Todd and Jennifer Bohn are parents for the first time. But the road to motherhood wasn't easy for Jennifer. She was diagnosed with an aggressive form of uterine cancer in 2005 - a 10-percent chance of survival...but she did survive. Now cancer-free, Jennifer and her husband have spent the last 16 months adopting 15-month old Tyler James. They just got back from South Korea Saturday with little Tyler in tow.
"Now that we have him every bit of the journey makes sense to me if I wouldn't of had the cancer we wouldn't have him so the cancer was well worth it," Jennifer Bohn said.
The Bohns agree this is a Thanksgiving they'll never forget for even some of the most quirky reasons. "That first diaper took so long to change, ha!"
"Just being called dad is different for one, but he's made it easy on us that's for sure he's an easy going boy," Todd Bohn said.
As they like so many others celebrate this holiday, the Bohns hope their story encourages others to never give up.
"Just chase that dream and just no matter how hard it is even on the way when the journey is tough...nothing comes easy, none of the good stuff does," Jennifer Bohn said.
The Bohn's say they plan to teach Tyler about both the American and South Korean cultures and even take a trip to his hometown when he gets older.
