Terry and Ewing Debate for District 2
Omaha, NE - Incumbent Lee Terry and challenger John Ewing picked up where they left off last week arguing over an ad.
In their debate Monday night the two exchanged jabs about the facts and each other’s records.
"Lee Terry has not been a fiscal conservative," said Ewing. "I’m the only one in this race who has cut government spending."
"I don't know where you came up with you passed so many bills, you're a county treasurer, you collect taxes from people," said Terry.
Arguing about the truthfulness in television attack ad's to a point where the moderator had to call order.
Terry and Ewing debated foreign policy, taxes, defense spending, and illegal immigration to name a few of the topics.
While their positions were almost always different there was no doubt on their positions when it came to healthcare, and if everyone is entitled to some sort of protection.
"I want everyone to have healthcare," said Terry.
"I would say yes, in the greatest country in the world we need to make sure that we're providing it for our citizens," said Ewing.
Terry went on to talk about changes in the healthcare system that could make things easier to help people gain access to healthcare.
Overall both say the debate was informative, and are looking forward to squaring off again on Thursday.
