Don't Use Boss' Credit Card To Buy Gas For You, Your Friends
Omaha, NE - A 32-year-old man who used his boss' gas card to fuel up almost daily was sentenced to nine months in federal prison.
The boss: the Nebraska Air National Guard. The card: from the General Services Administration, or GSA.
Terrell Smith will also be supervised for three years after his release, and has to repay the $22,882.25.
According to U.S. Attorney Deborah Gilg, someone at the Nebraska Air National Guard noticed suspicious charges by a recruiter in October 2011. Smith reportedly was using the gas card at north Omaha and Council Bluffs stations "to buy large quantities of gas on multiple occasions."
Between September 17th and November 19th, Smith used the card almost on a daily basis, buying gas for himself and his friends.
