Jail For Stepdad; 2-Year-Old Ate His "Roach"
Omaha, NE - A 42-year-old stepfather who admitted to police that his two-year-old "may have eaten a roach or joint left in the ashtray" was sentenced to five days in jail.
According to police reports, the mother took the toddler to the emergency room last April after he slept through diaper changes. He also didn't "walk right" when he woke up.
The boy tested positive for cannabinoids at the hospital.
Doctors called Child Protective Services and the Omaha police department's child victim unit. The stepfather, Tyrone Toney, was ticketed for child neglect after he told officers the boy ate marijuana that was in the ashtray. Toney pleaded guilty and was sentenced to five days in jail.
