Deanne Brink joined the Action 3 News team in May 2011 and is thrilled to make Omaha her new home.
Born in Kansas City, Missouri – Deanne says she knew early on that her love of news, information and television would forever shape her life. She began her TV career at around age 12, singing and dancing in charity telethons and performing in musical theatre productions.
Those entertainment spots quickly grew to TV commercials, and then finally Deanne found her niche’ when at 16 she was asked to fill in hosting a small talk show for a local cable affiliate. It was love at first sight!
Flash forward many years later and Deanne’s passion for telling the stories that impact our lives can be found in her award winning work on the former Internationally Syndicated show “On Main Street.” Or, as the host and a producer of Kansas City’s local real estate program – Kansas City Home Network. Not to mention leading the prime-time news as the Co-anchor and reporter for KQTV-ABC in St. Joseph, MO.
Deanne attended both Stephens College in Columbia, MO and Avila University in Kansas City graduating with a degree in Broadcast Journalism and special emphasis in her other love of Political Science. While at Stephens Deanne was a member of Kappa Alpha Phi local sorority and won a Circle of Excellence from the Missouri Newspaper Association for First Place excellence in Sport writing. She also spent countless hours interning at both KMBC-TV9 in Kansas City as well as working behind the scenes at WDAF FOX4 also in Kansas City.
When not focused on “who-what-when–where and why,” Deanne worked as a print, runway and commercial model and held several local and national pageant titles.
Nowadays, when Deanne is not at work she enjoys hanging out with her dog Ellie, working out, attending arts events, traveling, hanging out with friends and volunteering her time to her favorite charity!
Deanne would love to meet you – so if you see her out and about, please stop and say hi!
