If you haven't kept tabs on the 43rd U.S. President George W. Bush lately, then you should know that he's a painter these days and debuting his first art exhibit in April at the George W. Bush Presidential Library and Museum in Dallas.

According to CNN, in 2009 Bush told his art instructor that, "There's a Rembrandt trapped in this body. Your job is to find it."

Two dozen portraits later, Bush says, "I do take painting seriously, it's changed my life," further reports CNN. "And I readily concede the signature is more valuable than the painting."

The exhibit, "The Art of Leadership: A President's Personal Diplomacy," will showcase personal Bush mementos alongside featured paintings. His favorite subjects range from dogs to the stereotypical fruit-in-a-bowl still-life.
