WATCH: Daredevils busted for jumping off One World Trade Center

By Joyce Lupiani. CREATED Mar 25, 2014

A daredevil quartet is in big trouble with the New York Department of Justice.

Three men BASE jumped (the fourth was waiting below) off of the newly-built One World Trade Center on Sept. 30. At the time it happened, it sparked fears of terrorism at the nation's tallest building.

The men were not caught at the time. All that changed on Monday after police finally tracked them down and they were told to turn themselves in. The New York Daily News then reported their identities in its Monday editions.

Shortly after being named, 32-year-old James Brady, 33-year-old Andrew Rossig, 27-year-old Marco Markovich and 29-year-old Kyle Hartwell (the driver) turned themselves in early. They were charged with burglary, reckless endangerment and jumping from a structure, then arraigned and released on bail on Monday night.

A video of the jump was posted to YouTube Monday night. The skydivers say that if the video becomes popular and pulls in some money, they will donate it to a charity for families of 9/11. (Watch it below. The actual jump begins at the 2:30 mark.)

One of the men's attorneys insists the men did not do it as a publicity stunt, but since it has become somewhat of a spectacle, the skydiving daredevils hope some good will come of it.

Brady and Rossig are experienced BASE jumpers. Brady was a former construction worker at One World Trade Center and helped build the tower he jumped from.

According to the New York Post, Rossig has been busted a couple times before for BASE jumping -- once in Bear Mountain State Park in upstate New York and also after jumping from a 33-story building at Co-op City in the Bronx, N.Y.

A New Jersey teen recently received national attention after he snuck into One World Trade Center and took photos from the top of the building.

Watch the video (unless you are scared of heights, that is).
