St. Margaret's Day Celebration

St. Margaret's Episcopal Church in Palm Desert, will host a Scottish Festival on Sunday, November 10 from 10 am-2 pm. The event is free and open to all. The festival will include bagpipers, highland games, food, and a Celtic marketplace. There will be a special performance by Highland Way, a band that performs the Celtic music of Ireland and Scotland. The celebration begins in the church at 10 am with bagpipers, drums and organ and continues in the courtyard with dancing, music and games. The day marksthe beginning of the church's yearlong 50th anniversary celebration. This event commemorates St. Margaret, for whom the church is named. She was an 11thcentury queen of Scotland known for her pious habits and works of charity among the poor and orphans.
