STORMWATCH: Rain, Lightning and Flash Flood Warnings for Palm Springs and the Banning Pass
CABAZON - The National Weather Service issued a flash flood warning today for parts of Riverside County, including areas burned in the Silver Fire south of Banning.
The warning, which means flooding is imminent or occurring, is in effect until 5:30 p.m. Some Coachella Valley roads were closed off and on over the last few days because of flooding, and Araby and Golf Club drives remained closed today at the Palm Canyon Wash in Palm Springs.
A flash flood warning, effective through 6:15 p.m., also was issued for Palm Springs, Rancho Mirage and Palm Desert.
Parts of Idyllwild and Pine Cove may be affected. Araby and Golf Club drives remained closed today at the Palm Canyon Wash in Palm Springs.
Areas under the warning include:
-- Banning, Cabazon and parts of Interstate 10;
-- Highways 60, 62, 243 and 111;
-- One Horse Canyon;
-- Jenson and Snow creeks;
-- Morongo reservation;
-- Hurley, McMullen and Poppet flats;
-- Twin Pines and Mount Oak Boys' ranches;
-- Old Idyllwild, Twin Pines, Gorgonio View, Wonderview, Vista, Halls
and Poppet Flats roads, Highway 243, Esperanza Avenue, Ellis and Silver Creek
drives, Wolfskill Truck Trail and roads in the Morongo reservation south of
Margaret and Esther avenues.
