STORMWATCH: High Winds Blasting the Valley; Rain on the Way

PALM DESERT - A storm blowing down from the north is bringing rain, strong winds and
colder temperatures to the Coachella Valley and all of Southern California.
Possibly damaging winds are forecast through Tuesday morning across the valley. A high wind warning remains in effect until 8am Tuesday. Rain is expected in the afternoon hours. More significant rain is expected west of the Banning Pass. As much as 2 inches of rain could fall in the mountains. The Palm Springs Aerial Tramway is closed Monday due to the high winds.
The National Weather Service reports the snow level could drop to 5,000 to 5,500 feet tonight into early Tuesday, with several inches of snowfall possible.
