Recycling Your Christmas Tree

CREATED Dec. 26, 2013

Now that Christmas is over, it's time to take down the decorations and throw out the tree.

The Riverside County Department of Waste is encouraging those with real trees to recycle them. This saves landfill space and helps secure local fish habitats.

The State Department of Fish and Game will use the trees to protect small fish populations in lakes Elsinore, Gregory, Hemet and Perris.

You can drop your tree off at the Burrtec Recycling Center in Palm Desert at 41800 Corporate Way.
