Two Killed in Highway 74 Crash

Two people are dead, and two others hurt after a two vehicles slammed into each other on Highway 74 Sunday afternoon.
Calfire says the head-on crash happened around 1:30 today on Highway 74 in Pinyon, about a mile west of Vista Point.
California Highway Patrol closed Highway 74 at 2pm, and reopened at 5pm Sunday night.
California Highway Patrol says the passengers of both the vehicles were killed.
The Coroner says 25-year-old Jason Alexander of Palm Springs was killed in one vehicle.
And 58-year-old Rosalinda Rossi of Palm Desert died ini the other car.
Both the drivers suffered major injuries, one was airlifted and the other taken by ambulance to Desert Regional Medical Center.
Highway Patrol told us one vehicle veered over the yellow lines, but it's unknown which vehicle was travel in which direction.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
