YOU ASK. WE INVESTIGATE. Rattlesnakes Invade Valley Dog Park

CREATED Jul. 12, 2013

PALM DESERT - YOU ASK. WE INVESTIGATE. Residents who use the University Dog Park in Palm Desert say there are rattlesnakes in the park and the city isn't doing enough about it.   They say a dog was bitten on July 4th and required thousands of dollars of verterinary care.

They're upset because they say the snakes are hiding in the low, decorative shrubs on the edge of the park.  They've asked the city of Palm Desert to remove the shrubs and/or put up additional fencing to keep the snakes out.  They say the city says it doesn't have the money.

KMIR6 News reporter GItzel Puente is out talking with people who use the park and approaching the City of Palm Desert.  Watch for her story tonight on KMIR6 News at 5pm.
