Memorial Day Traffic Slams WB I-10

Traffic is, arguably, the downside to any holiday travel. Whether your flying, taking a train or driving, there is bound to be some sort of congestion, and here in the desert, it was no different. WB I-10 moved at a snails pace Monday afternoon. All thanks to folks rushing back home after a fun Memorial Day weekend.
Some drivers so frustrated, they had to pull over to take a break. "Bumper to bumper, I mean we've yet to see it move. It's just been as far as the eye can see, just bumper to bumper; cars, trailers and boats,” says traveler Britnay Lambert.
For the lucky ones traveling in the opposite direction, it was smooth sailing. "It wasn't too bad for me coming in. It was pretty easy,” says traveler Tami Stanfield. If you think the traffic will only be here because of the holiday, think again. There will be no lane closures on Memorial Day, but starting tomorrow at 6pm, there will be closures everyday. He good news is that they're all overnight. "Things are going to get backed up. I hope not though,” says Stanfield.
Drivers say they try and do their research so they don't get stuck in the traffic stand still. "If everybody left on Friday night, I try to leave on Saturday,” says Stanfield. Sometimes, they say, there's just no avoiding it. "We left later but we actually anticipate a bit more traffic on our way in,” says Lambert.
