It's in your mailbox every week: advertisements, fliers and coupons.
It's more commonly called junk mail.
For some, it's easy savings in their mailbox, but for others its a nuisance.
So the question is, can you do anything to stop it?
Indian Wells resident, Marjorie Simon, says her mailbox is being invaded.
"I wish there were enough people to get together to try and stop all this junk mail."
Marjorie says sometimes she gets several of the same fliers.
"It's annoying because I have to go from my mailbox, to my house, then out to the recycling and to throw those away and its a pain in the neck."
She asked her postal carrier if they could stop delivering all those ads, they told her no.
"Eventually I just left them there, not taking them out until I got a notice that they would stop delivering my mail until I emptied my mailbox."
She even brought a big roll of junk mail into a Palm Desert post office, asking them to stop.
"And I left it there, only to find a few days later it was back in my mailbox with a note, you forgot and left this in the post office," said Marjorie.
We spoke with the postmaster in La Quinta, Raymond Rodriguez, about the junk mail or as the Postal Service calls it: bulk mail.
"You have those that want them, and you have those that don't."
There are huge stacks of fliers and advertisements ready to be delivered at the post office.
"Those are one of the biggest revenues that we get because as you know first class mail is coming down some because of all the internet and everything else," said Raymond.
Tuesday's and Wednesday's are the big bulk mail days.
"Businesses pay the Postal Service by actually they put it on the actual piece, the mail piece the name of the previous customer and it says or current resident so then we have an obligation to that company to deliver that," said Raymond.
There is a way to cut down the junk mail, you can what you want delivered, but you have to go online to do it.
"And when you go on there, it gives you options of do you want to get certain things or do you want to take it and remove your name off certain things and they'll work on that to remove your name off all mailing lists if you want get off of them," said Raymond.
If you log onto Direct Marketing Association at https://www.dmachoice.org you can find sections to manage mail, remove certain mail offers, or even select to stop all other mail offers.
Marjorie would be glad to see the junk mail go.
"I think there must be a lot of people besides myself that feel as I do, about this, it's overdone and I think not necessary," said Marjorie.
The post office says you can give your mailbox a makeover to stop the junk mail invasion.
