PALM SPRINGS - It's the very first Tachevah Music Festival held at the Spa Casino and Resort. So far, it's been a smash.
People attending the festival say they heard about it in a number of ways, some through social media."I first heard of it on Facebook following Coachella," said one concert goer. Some heard about it just doing the daily grind."We heard about it at school. The whole school is talking about it," said another concert goer.
Passion Pit is the headlining band. They also performing at Coachella this year. But the cool thing about Tachevah is that the festival will showcase 3 local bands:
-You, Me and Us
All three bands get tickets to Coachella next weekend. The festival is also free to the public. "For struggling college students this is really great, it's awesome for us to be able to get out and do something with the community," says one COD college student.
A community that law enforcement say have made the night very safe. "Better than what we've expected for security purposes. So far it's been really good," says Lt. Kovaleff of Palm Springs. Festival goers hope Tachevah comes back next year because of the huge success it was. There were three arrests, all alcohol related.
