Teacher Posts Math Test On Facebook

CREATED Aug. 30, 2012

INDIO-- A local teacher is in hot water for posting her student's math test on Facebook.

A fourth grade teacher at Herbert Hoover Elementary School in Indo, posted one of her students' math tests with a caption criticizing the student's intelligence. The name of the child was legible at the top of the page.

Parents saw it, and asked KMIR6 to investigate what the districts policies are, when it comes to what you can and can't post online.

Desert Sands Unified School District Officials Sherry Johnstone says it is not legal, and against board policy to take a students test and display it on a social media network. Johnstone says when it comes to social media, every employee signs a technology agreement when hired. If there is a breach in this technology agreement, Johnstone says punishment can be anything from a warning, to a day without pay, to termination of employment.

We reached out to the teacher in question, and still have not gotten a response.
