3.9 Earthquake Rattles Yucca Valley, Joshua Tree
YUCCA VALLEY - An earthquake measuring magnitude-3.9 hit Thursday 3 miles southeast of Yucca Valley.
The tremblor was followed by two smaller earthquakes within minutes, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.
The first quake hit at 10:54 a.m. approximately 6.3 miles below the surface and was felt as far away as Palm Springs. A second tremblor measuring magnitude-2.6 shook about a minute later followed by a third quake measuring magnitude-1.6, all three hit in the same vicinity about 3 miles southeast of Yucca Valley, about 5 miles southwest of Joshua Tree.
There are no reports of damage or injuries.
