Coachella Valley Residents Hit By Record-Level Heat

PALM DESERT - High temperatures in the Coachella Valley rose above the 110 mark Thursday. In Palm Springs, the mercury hit 114 degrees, tying a record set in 2001.

Unofficial temperature readings with highs of 115, 116 and even 117 were reported across the desert by late afternoon.

The National Weather Service says the average temperature for this date is 98 degrees.

KMIR6 Meteorologist Bryan Scofield forecasts more triple digit heat tomorrow, with highs hovering around 110 degrees.
