Health Officials Determine Source of Illness at BNP Tennis Tournament
INDIAN WELLS - The Riverside County Department of Health has confirmed that a highly contagious stomach flu at the BNP Paribas Open back in March was the result of the norovirus.
Some top ranked tennis players had to withdraw from the tournament due to nausea, diarrhea and chills.
Norovirus, also known as "Norwalk Virus", is a surface-borne virus, meaning it can be contracted from touching any surface where the virus is present. The virus can live for days on unwashed surfaces.
