Wet and Windy Forecast for Coachella Music Fest
Wet and windy weather will fall smack dab in the middle of the Coachella Music and Arts Festival.
The massive music event goes on, rain or shine.
But chances are high this time there will be rain--a rare weather event for our area this time of year.
Joshua McDowell and Christy Stewart will be here for both Coachella Fest weekends, and Stagecoach.
They traveled a long way to get here.
"We just set out from Florida with the idea of hitting as many festivals as we possibly could, we're getting ready to go out to England and whatnot," said McDowell.
They will be on the road for months, playing music along the way.
"Always meet nice people out on the road, no matter where you're at, there's always nice people," said Stewart.
So what was their response to a wet and windy forcast?
"Come on with the rain. You can't stop it, you can't stop it."
A bit of gusty conditions for set-up Wednesday night.
And people putting up the art installations are already camping on the polo grounds.
"This festival is known for being a scorcher for when you're walking around in 100 degree weather, so the breeze and a little bit of water is very welcome, it makes it easier, I mean if we get over an inch of rain, it might get a little crazy," said Caesar Garcia, from LA.
Are they worried about getting rained out of the tents?
"A little bit, however it only adds to the fun, if I wanted to be super comfortable I could have gone to Disneyland instead a hotel, its part of the adventure, part of the fun to come out here," said Garcia.
So even with large clouds looming on the horizon, some are saying, bring on the rain.
"Its going to bring so much energy out here to the ground, its going to be great, it gets so hot out here the last couple of days, that the wind's just going to cool people down," said Garcia.
Rain or shine, the show will go on.
