Cannahelp Owner Sentenced
INDIO - A Palm Springs medical marijuana dispensary owner was sentenced today to three years probation for fraudulent business practices.
Stacy Hochanadel, the owner of Cannahelp, pleaded builty back in February. This all stems from Hochanadel's arrest back in 2006, when he opened a dispensary in Palm Desert.
Authorities alleged the dispensary violated the state's medical marijuana law because it was turning a profit. The dispensary closed in 2007, when Palm Deseert placed a ban on marijuana dispensaries from operating.
Cannahelp then moved to Palm Springs, but closed its doors last year. It was one of three dispensaries in Palm Springs operating legally with permits.
