La Quinta Arts Festival Celebrates 30th Anniversary

LA QUINTA - La Quinta Arts Festival, ranked the #2 Fine Art Festival in the Nation, will celebrate its 30th Anniversary March 8-11, 2012 at the magnificent outdoor gallery on La Quinta Civic Center Campus. Presenting 230 foremost contemporary artists from 30 states and Canada exhibiting their latest creations in eleven art media categories.
La Quinta Arts Festival hours are 10 am to 5 pm daily. Live entertainment, great food offered by Ruth's,Chris Steak House, Fisherman's Market & Grill and Baja Louie's Coastal Cantina, along with refreshing brews and wines, all add to the day's amenities. The 30th Anniversary will be marked by the addition of Randy Strong as the Featured Festival Artist. Strong, an award winning designer and innovator of sculptural glass, is recognized as one of the leaders of the American Studio Art Glass Movement, which is currently observing its 50th Anniversary. To commemorate the dual milestones, La Quinta Arts Foundation has partnered with Art Alliance for Contemporary Glass to be part of more than 160 glass demonstrations, lectures and exhibitions in venues across the country throughout 2012. Through this alliance Randy Strong will give a special presentation along with his four day festival exhibition.
Strong's free public lecture entitled "A Life Lived at 2300 Degrees" will be a view from the inside of 45 years of the American Art Glass Movement. The lecture will be held Friday, March 9, 2012 at 6 pm at Embassy Suites Hotel, 50777 Santa Rosa Plaza, La Quinta, CA. RSVP required to 760-564-1244 ext. 103 or email email@example.com.
