CREATED Feb. 21, 2012

PALM SPRINGS - February is Black History Month and the City of Palm Springs Black History Month Committee is still accepting entries for next weekend's 25th annual Palm Springs Black History Parade.

The 11 a.m. parade is slated for Saturday, Feb. 25 in downtown Palm Springs.

The theme is "25 Years of Celebrating Our Past, Embracing Our Future."

This year's Grand Marshal is local boxer Timothy Bradley.

The committee is looking for marching bands and any nonprofit organizations who may be interested in entering a vehicle or float.

The deadline for submission is Wednesday, Feb. 22. Following the parade, don't miss the Black History Town Fair beginning at noon in Palm Springs Stadium, 1901 E. Baristo Road.
