Prosecutors Not Seeking Death Penalty for Palm Desert Man

INDIO - Prosecutors will not be seeking the death penalty for a Palm Desert man accused of killing his next door neighbor's son and two year-old granddaughter over scratches on a pickup truck.
Juan Carlos Alcala faces two counts of murder and one count of attempted murder in the April 2011 deaths of Felipe Lozano Junior and his daughter Zoe at the Hovley Garden Apartments.
Friday during a felony settlement conference, prosecutors said they will not be seeking the death penalty for Alcala.
He will be back in court February 24th.
