Suspected Prowler Captured At Palm Desert Resort

PALM DESERT - A suspected prowler is behind bars this Thanksgiving. At approximately 3:23 a.m., officers responded to the Tennis Club Resort, 700 block W. Baristo Road in Palm Desert following a report of a suspicious person prowling on the property. Officers detained William Michael Pearl, age 51. They located a stolen vehicle nearby, which Pearl had possession of its keys. The vehicle was reported stolen from the Palm Desert area on 11/5/11. A check of the vehicle revealed stolen property from at least two auto burglaries, also occurring in the Palm Desert area.

Pearl was arrested and taken to Smith Correctional Facility in Banning and is being held in lieu of $150,000 bail. He is charged with possession of stolen property, possession of a stolen vehicle, possession of drug paraphernalia, providing false identification to a peace officer and committing a crime while out on bail, from a previous case.
