Soggy Valley, Snowy Mountains

We get a short break from precipitation Friday night before a much stronger system moves in tomorrow dumping even more rain and snow. Saturday and Sunday could bring over 2 feet of snow to the highest peaks, about 8"-12" to ski areas, and an inch of rain to the valley.

The snow will start Saturday morning at 4200ft then rise to 5500ft in central Idaho by late in the day. Long Valley should see 4"-6" of snow before changing to rain overnight Saturday.

Expect soggy weather for the Idaho Potato Bowl with rain for the whole game!

Rain showers on Christmas Eve could change over to a brief period of snow in the valley so there is a possibility of a dusting to a coating of snow on the Treasure Valley floor on Christmas morning. Christmas Day will be colder with a chance of a few snow showers to set the mood.
