Ski Areas to Get Hit With Good Storm

Temperatures have warmed to above freezing in most of the Treasure valley so as a storm moves in on Friday night expect mostly rain in the valley with some pockets of freezing rain and snow in the lower western valley. Rain should then take over as morning approaches with only a light accumulation of ice and snow possible in western canyon county and eastern Oregon. Boise should see all rain Friday night with rain & snow showers on Saturday.

Mountain com unities above 4500 ft. should get should get 4-8" of snow with 8-15" possible in some of the ski areas Friday night into Saturday evening. The wind will pick up on Saturday and a cold front passing through should clear out what is left of the valley inversion leaving the lower elevations with partly cloudy skies and scattered rain & show showers Saturday afternoon and evening..

Pomerelle Mountain Resort opened today but stay tuned to see if any ski areas get enough snow to join Sun Valley in opening by Thanksgiving.
