High Pressure Ridge to Dominate Weather Pattern

Another dense fog advisory for the Treasure Valley today, ending at 11am. Canyon County, as well as Eastern Oregon, will continue to see foggy and overcast conditions, while Ada County will clear into a mostly sunny and hazy day. Temperatures will continue to be slightly above average in the valley, and warm up a bit more in the mountains above the inversion.

The ridge of high pressure will lock the temperature inversion in place over the western and central parts of the Snake River Plain, continuing this weather pattern of foggy mornings and hazy sunshine in the afternoon until a strong enough system makes its way through the region. Air quality will decrease through the week as pollution builds up from our automobiles and industries and has no way to mix out of the lower levels of the atmosphere. At the same time, the mountains will experience near-record warmth and dry conditions through the next week.
