A Big Cool-Down is Coming

Sunday marks the last day of summer and it will feel like it across the region. Skies will be sunny across the Treasure Valley and west-central mountains with highs in the 80s. Further east monsoon moisture will bring mostly to partly sunny skies with a chance of showers and thunderstorms to the Magic Valley and the south-central mountains. Highs over there will only reach the mid 70s due to the increased moisture.

The first few days of Autumn will feel more like summer with high temperatures in the upper 80s and low 90s. We can expect plenty of sunshine in the Treasure Valley, but the monsoon moisture will hang around further east until Wednesday.

Thursday will be our last warm day with highs around 90 in the Treasure Valley. A cold front will arrive overnight bringing light rain and cooler temperatures. On Friday, highs will likely top out around 70 in the Treasure Valley. Saturday will be partly cloudy, breezy, and cooler with highs in the upper 60s.
