Wet start to winter

After record rainfall this past weekend, conditions will start to dry in the valley this afternoon. Monday is starting wet again, with showers expected until late morning, becoming more isolated and spotty into early afternoon. Boise looks to clear into a partly sunny day early evening, but the wind picks up with speeds 15-25mph tonight. Eastern Magic Valley has a wind advisory starting at 11 this morning, with gusts around 40mph in Burley, Shoshone, and Rupert.

Snow showers will continue through today in the East and West Central Mountains, but accumulations not expected to pass 1-2" above 4500 feet. Temperatures will dip into the single digits tonight, but conditions look more clear and dry for tomorrow.

Tuesday will be calm and clear across the region, and although temperatures will still be above average, they will be cooler than they are today. A cold front moves through Christmas Eve, bringing a chance of showers with it. Christmas day only has a 20% chance of precipitation, but with highs in the mid 30's, there is still the slight chance of seeing a little snow fall.
