Travel Weather Takes a Turn

Another mild day ahead of us, with temperatures again reaching the mid 50's in the Boise area, but with more cloud cover and a chance of rain. The mountains are also expecting quit a bit of precipitation today, a bit of a rain/snow mix, with up to 4" of snow today above 6000ft.

The string of mild days will come to a close this weekend, with temps plunging into the low 30's by Sunday. Saturday will host a significant amount of precipitation across the region, rain turning to snow in the valley, and snow in the mountains. A Winter Weather Advisory has been issued in the East Central Mountains from 6:00 tonight, to 6:00 tomorrow morning.

If you are heading to the BSU vs. USU game don't let the rain during the day on Saturday deceive you, it will be dry for the game but the mild weather will be gone and it will become frigid during the game, expect around 32 degrees at kickoff, in the mid 20's by the end of the game.
