Most bride and grooms hope that the best man or maid of honor won't embarrass them with an awful toast at their wedding reception and probably make their choices with that in mind.
It is pretty obvious that Luke Davis of Wales wasn't expecting his best man to launch into a four-minute rap. It is even more obvious that his bride, Katie Davies, had no idea what was going to happen. She looks quite terrified at the beginning of the video.
Spencer Loveridge, 35, is a huge fan of Goldie Lookin Chain, a Welsh comedic rap music group, and modeled his rap after the group. He used samples from Welsh singing legend Tom Jones and the James Bond movies, which fit perfectly. (Note: Some of the language may be not safe for work.)
Lines include "Love is blind or so the saying goes. But you've never seen him wipe boogeys on your windows" and "And after he's been t the loo, it won't be smelling of flowers. It's actually probably best not to go in there for the next 24 hours."
His performance left everyone in near hysterics and he received a standing ovation from the wedding guests at the end.
Loveridge says he managed to keep his planned rap a secret, despite pressure from his friends. Only his girlfriend knew what he was planning to do.
Loveridge is a freelance computer programmer. He has also taken turns as a disc jockey since 1999 and dabbled in music production.
According to the Daily Mail, Davis and Loveridge have been best friends since they were about four years old.
