Anchor learns of friend's suicide during live report

A news anchor for Next TV News in Taiwan shockingly learned of her friend and fellow journalist's heartbreaking suicide via the teleprompter during a live broadcast.

Lee Chingyu reported the news with remarkable composure, despite being visibly upset.

CtiTV reporter Erich Shih, 46, was found on May 15 with a plastic bag on his head, lying lifeless on his kitchen floor in Taipei. An investigation is underway, however, initial reports have ruled the death an apparent suicide.

"CTiTV spokesman Huang Chun-jen said yesterday that Shih was an outstanding and professional anchor who will be dearly missed by his colleagues, the CTiTV and Taiwan's news media as a whole," reports The China Post.

Watch above for Chingyu's professional report on the tragic news of Shih's death. Please note: Subtitles are not provided.
