Joan Rivers moves out of Mount Sinai's ICU; daughter confirms private room

By Julianne Cassidy. CREATED Sep 3, 2014

Comedienne Joan Rivers has been moved out of the intensive care unit after being rushed to Manhattan's Mount Sinai Hospital on August 28. Rivers is now in a private hospital room.

"My mother has been moved out of intensive care and into a private room where she is being kept comfortable," Melissa Rivers, Joan's daughter and co-star of their reality show "Joan & Melissa: Joan Knows Best?," says in a statement. "Thank you for your continued support," CNN reports.

The latest update in Rivers' condition does not confirm if the room change indicates that she's off life support after suffering respiratory and cardiac arrest during a minor elective procedure.
