"The bitter herb of losing is never tasty," waxes coach Rice

By Paul Gerke. CREATED Dec 13, 2013

Boise State (8-1) will host its best non-Mountain West competition Saturday afternoon, welcoming St. Mary's (7-0) to Taco Bell Arena.

Over 8,000 tickets had already been sold by Friday evening, promising the largest home crowd for the Broncos so far this season. New head football coach Bryan Harsin will be introduced at halftime of the game, which tips off at 4pm.

Boise State head coach Leon Rice said the Broncos had their best practice of the season Thursday, on the heels of the team's disheartening loss to (11) Kentucky.

"You can win 100 games in a row, and the bitter herb of losing is never tasty," waxed Rice. "Kentucky is almost a free swing a little bit, you get a shot at the title on the road... But this is a home game against a top-10 team in the RPI."

"Plus, it's the next one," he added. "Those are always pretty important."
