The Idaho Steelheads celebrated Valentine's Day with a heartfelt gesture towards a charity that knows a thing or two about hearts. The Steelies wore special jerseys Friday night against Bakersfield. The uniforms will be sold in a silent auction to benefit the Jayden Deluca Foundation, which aids children suffering from cardiac conditions.
Idaho must have liked playing in its new threads- the team beat Bakersfield 4-3. Rob Linsmayer set the tone with a goal just 30 seconds into the game, and the Steelheads went on to beat the ECHL's best goaltender, Laurent Brossoit, three more times.
The same two teams will face off again Saturday night.
