Skinner's no-hitter spoiled in extras, Yotes lose 1-0

By Paul Gerke. CREATED May 23, 2014

The College of Idaho softball team lost its first game at the NAIA Softball World Series to Lindsey Wilson (KY) 1-0. Coyotes' pitcher Nickayla Skinner took a no-hitter into the top of the ninth, but it was spoiled with two outs when Andrea Whalen hit a line drive home run. It was Lindsey Wilson's only hit of the game.

Skinner tied a career-high with 15 strike outs, and took a perfect game into extras before hitting a batter in the eighth. The College of Idaho managed just four hits of its own.

The Yotes will face the loser of Olivet Nazarene- William Carey Saturday morning.
