The Boise State football team will open its season Saturday night against Washington. The rematch of the 2012 MAACO Las Vegas Bowl will be the first game played in the newly-renovated Husky Stadium.
A lot has changed since the Broncos and Huskies dueled last December. Washington is returning 18 starters, while Boise State has only half as many.
"Whether we won or lost, most of our guys are gone," explained head coach Chris Petersen. "We'd be talking to air trying to motivate them. All their guys are back."
Although some of the names have changed, there is no love lost between the two programs.
"They want to beat us bad because of the bowl game, but I think it's the same thing for us," said quarterback Joe Southwick on Monday. "We have the motivation too, to start our season off right."
