The University of Idaho football team scrimmaged for the first time under Paul Petrino Saturday. The Vandal offense put together 12 scoring drives, including ten touchdowns.
Coeur D'Alene product and potential starting quarterback Chad Chalich produced over 200 yards of offense by himself, finding the end zone four times- twice passing and twice rushing. Dezmon Epps led the receiving corps with 151 yards on 10 catches.
Petrino was especially impressed by his defensive line, led by sophomore end Quinton Bradley. The dynamic pass rusher made a pair of sacks before Petrino opted to double-team him.
"Quinton has a chance to be real special," said Petrino. "Any time (our defensive line) can play like that, we just have to get the lead on offense and you have a great chance to win."
Petrino added: "I'd say the defense kind of dominated up front, and the offense probably dominated in skill. We just have to get more 50/50 on both sides of the ball."
