Capital claims 5A baseball title, Twin Falls doubles up

The Idaho state baseball and softball tournaments concluded Saturday, and several Treasure Valley teams are making room in their trophy cases.

Capital won the 5A baseball championship, thanks to a 7-1 win over Eagle. Mountain View claimed the 5A softball crown by defeating Coeur D'Alene 7-4.

Twin Falls took home both the 4A baseball and softball titles, beating Lakeland 4-1 and Bishop Kelly 9-1, respectively.

The Fruitland baseball team earned its fifth baseball championship since 2008, routing Snake River 14-5. Filer wrapped up its fantastic season with a 3A softball title, courtesy a 14-9 win over Homedale.

Orofino blanked Nampa Christian 10-0 in the 2A baseball finale. Malad won its second-consecutive 2A softball title, beating Orofino 11-1.
