Two weeks ago in Fort Collins, Boise State's defense was so banged up that all-conference center, Matt Paradis, almost volunteered himself to play defensive tackle.
The makeshift front-seven gave up 626 yards to Colorado State in an ugly win. A bye week allowed that unit to get some rest, and it made a world of difference Saturday night.
Boise State surrendered a season-low 265 yards of offense to Wyoming, including just 55 on the ground. Demarcus Lawrence led the charge with seven tackles, two sacks, and a forced fumble. The Broncos produced four turnovers, three of which resulted in scoring drives.
The visitors took a 7-0 lead, but BSU ripped up 48 unanswered points. Grant Hedrick threw three touchdown passes, all to his roommate Matt Miller, who set a career-high with 147 receiving yards.
Jay Ajayi rushed for three TD's of his own, but was out-gained by freshman Devan Demas, who ran for 73 yards on his first meaningful carries of the season.
Boise State will visit resurgent San Diego State in a pivotal Mountain West match-up next wee.
