The top spot in the Mountain Division is on the line Saturday in Logan, and two old pals will compete for it.
Boise State and Utah State last met in 2010, a blow out win by the Broncos. BSU is 13-4 all-time against USU, and hasn't lost since 1997, when both played in the Big West. The Mountain West is the third league the two schools have shared.
The Broncos and Aggies will rekindle a rivalry Saturday, fueled by recent successes, geographical proximity, and a mutual respect between the two current head coaches.
"They're a lot better than when we played them last time," said Boise State head coach Chris Petersen. "Completely different team, program, all those things. These guys are good, there’s no question about it."
"I have a tremendous amount of respect for Coach Pete, the coaches in that complex, and the things they’ve done to build that program," said Utah State coach Matt Wells. "I think the road to the Mountain Championship goes right through Boise."
On Saturday night, the championship goes through Logan.
