Quarterback Joe Southwick broke the Boise State record for completion percentage with a 27 for 29 (93.1%) performance, helping Boise State ground Air Force 42-20. Southwick threw for 287 yards, rushed for 53, and scored two total touchdowns.
Wide receiver Matt Miller was Southwick's favorite target. He made 10 catches for 112 yards. Kirby Moore added eight grabs for 70 yards and hauled in Southwick's only TD pass.
Runningback Jay Ajayi carried the ball 17 times, rushing for a career-high 125 yards and scoring four touchdowns. Ajayi found the end zone four times in all of last season.
Boise State (2-1, 1-0 MW) will travel to Fresno to take on Fresno State (2-0, 0-0 MW) next Friday. The Bulldogs' game in Colorado was postponed until December 7 (tentatively) due to flooding around campus.
