The Boise Hawks managed to sellout for the first time this season, surpassing Memorial Stadium's capacity of 4,200 people. The crowd was unable to will the Hawks to victory, however, as Boise fell 7-5 to Tri City Thursday night.
Boise starter Duane Underwood allowed five runs (two earned) in 4.2 innings, and the Hawks trailed 5-1 before rallying to tie the game with three runs in the fifth and one in the seventh. Carlos Penalver plated two of those runs with a single in the fifth.
Reliever Jasvir Rakkar allowed three hits in 3.1 innings of work, surrendering the winning run in the top of the eighth. He was credited with the loss.
Boise will meet Tri City again Friday night in game two of the four game series.
