Former Boise State runningback D.J. Harper tweeted Monday that he has agreed to terms with the San Francisco 49'ers. He is the first of BSU's undrafted free agents to sign with an NFL team. Cornerback Jerrell Gavins was invited to a Tampa Bay Buccaneers mini-camp which begins later this week.
At this point in the off-season, San Francisco's backfield boasts seven talented ball carriers, including Frank Gore, LaMichael James, Kendall Hunter, and 2013 4th round pick Marcus Lattimore. Lattimore, like Harper, has suffered multiple knee injuries.
The 49'ers' first rookie mini-camp begins May 10.
