The University of Idaho football team will wrap up spring camp with a final scrimmage Friday night at 6pm at the Kibbie Dome.
New head coach Paul Petrino will get another look at the two quarterbacks vying for the Vandals' starting job: Chad Chalich and Taylor Davis. The pair combined for 531 yards and five touchdown passes in Idaho's last scrimmage on Saturday. In the exhibition, the Vandals offense met Petrino's goal of ten total touchdowns and netted over 800 total yards.
Petrino may not be ready to commit to a starting quarterback, but he is committed to the toughness of his team, as exhibited in Saturday's scrimmage.
"It's kind of a survival of the fittest," said Petrino. "We got rid of all the wussies, and [are] just down to the tough guys. The tough guys were out there for 120 plays, hitting each other and getting after each other."
"Nobody got hurt, and that's a good thing," added Petrino.
