The Detroit Lions open camp in less than two weeks- former Bronco great and the rest of the Lions' rookie class will report to Allen Park on July 23. Kellen has some competition for Detroit's number three spot on the depth chart in RJ Archer, a former Arena Football League Quarterback. Archer has a distinct size advantage over Moore, standing two inches taller and weighing 30 pounds more. Kellen's numbers at Boise State are tough to argue with, however. Moore completed 72% of his passes and tossed for over 7,000 yards and 78 touchdowns. Archer was a back-up at William & Mary's before playing two years in the AFL.
The Lions paid a larger signing bonus to Moore than they did to any other rookie this year- but Kellen knows he'll be pushed for a roster spot.
